What you'll need for this cornbread recipe

– 1 box  Jiffy Cornbread Mix or any packaged cornbread mix – 1 egg or 2 if you want it less crumbly – 1/3 cup buttermilk or regular milk – 1 cup cheddar cheese or Monterey Jack (pepper) – 1 cup sweet corn kernels – 2 tsp onion powder – 1/2 stick butter – 10-inch cast iron skill

Easy recipe comes together in 5 minutes!

Preheat the oven to 400o degrees. Step 1: Mix the dry ingredients - cornbread mix and onion powder together in a large bowl. Step 2: Add the wet ingredients - 1 egg, cheddar cheese, sweet corn, and buttermilk to the dry ingredients.

Oven melt the butter in the skillet until it's hot...

Pour the cornbread batter into the sizzling hot skillet! Bake for 25-30 minutes.

Let it cool 10 minutes before you cut and serve. Smear Butter!
